Sketcher-in-Residence: pushing the boundaries of creative curiosity

Lynne Chapman received a grant to observe the everyday life of Manchester University for a year. Apart from her lovely drawings, the idea of concentrated attention is one worth considering.

We rush and rush and don’t take notice of the ordinary things, but it’s exactly in these everyday things that we can learn so much. Lynne drew all sorts of things, from big equipment and auditoriums to the contents of an academic’s top drawer.

Her talk is interesting, and her drawings lively.
